This article is on a topic which has been rising in recent years. It has corrupted both society and the church today. You can see it in the news practically every day. What is it, you may ask? None other that the homosexual, gay, lesbian agenda. In this article I will be looking into this agenda and comparing it to God's Word. I'm sure that with this article I'll be labeled as a "hater" but no matter what, I shall make known the Word of the Lord.
In society, we hear about "gay rights" and "equality for gays." Children are being taught that "being gay" is an acceptable choice. TV shows & movies are being made about gays. It is quite often heard that in Hollywood the "gay thing" is in. I have even heard teenagers in the small mid-western town I live in talk about how other teenagers are gay, because it's the "in thing", no joke. Should I bring up how the gays have come against the Boy Scouts along with the United Way, PBS and others? The Boy Scouts believe according to their Scout Oath, that a scout is to be "morally straight," which they say that being gay is not being morally straight. Could they be right? I believe so as I'll show later.
In the church we find that things aren't much different than society. They are also promoting "gay rights." They are making it acceptable for gays to be ministers & leaders of the church. They are even marrying "gay" couples. I ask you, what does God think of the "gay issue?"
Lev 18:1-30
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, I am the LORD your God.
3 After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye walk in their ordinances.
4 Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the LORD your God.
5 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the LORD.
6 None of you shall approach to any that is near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD.
7 The nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
8 The nakedness of thy father's wife shalt thou not uncover: it is thy father's nakedness.
9 The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover.
10 The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs is thine own nakedness.
11 The nakedness of thy father's wife's daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
12 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's sister: she is thy father's near kinswoman.
13 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister: for she is thy mother's near kinswoman.
14 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father's brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt.
15 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: she is thy son's wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
16 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother's wife: it is thy brother's nakedness.
17 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter, neither shalt thou take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen: it is wickedness.
18 Neither shalt thou take a wife to her sister, to vex her, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her life time.
19 Also thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put apart for her uncleanness.
20 Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her.
21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.
24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
26 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
27 (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;)
28 That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you.
29 For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.
30 Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God. (KJV)
I believe that this chapter clearly shows what is acceptable unto the Lord. You have just read about every know type of sexual misconduct known to man. After reading this do you still think that being gay is an in thing? Maybe you're saying, okay I see your point, but that's the Old Testament, we are in the New Testament now governed by love, I'm sure things have changed now. Well, if this is what you think you're sadly mistaking.
1 Cor 6:9-10
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. (KJV)
To help you understand better, I'll give the definitions for the words in the above passage that relate to this topic.
- A fornicator is one who indulges in unlawful sexual intercourse. (Incase you are wondering what unlawful sexual intercourse means, it refers to Lev 18)
- An adulterer is one who being married, has sexual intercourse with someone other than their spouse.
- Effeminate is a boy kept for homosexual relations with a man or a male who submits his body to unnatural lewdness.
- An abuser of themself with mankind is one who lies with a male as with a female, sodomite, homosexual.
As we can see, in the New Testament, things aren't much different that from the Old Testament. What is the destination of gays (homosexuals) according to 1 Corinthians? They WILL NOT inherit the kingdom of God. In other words, their destination is hell. It's that clear and simple. What are we to do with Christians who profess to be "gay?" If we look back one chapter to 1 Corinthians chapter five we'll find the answer.
1 Cor 5:1-13
1 It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.
2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you.
3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,
4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.
6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. (KJV)
In this chapter we find that sexual immorality had taken place in the church. Note that Paul had judged this person, that's right, he judged this person. We are called to judge. To learn more about judging read my article "Judge Not". Paul said that this person should be "delivered unto Satan" or even that the "wicked person should be cast out from among them." Very strong words indeed! What Paul was talking about was excluding this man from fellowship that he would be left alone with his sin and Satan, and hopefully this emptiness would drive him to repentance.
God certainly does not approve of homosexuality, so why are churches today going against the Word of God in respect to "gays?" Think about this:
Rom 1:32
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (KJV)
What was Paul referring to in this verse? He was referring to a number of things, one of which is homosexuality:
Romans 1:26-27
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. (KJV)
In these above verses it is interesting to learn the definition of the word natural.
Strong's Number 5446, phusikos {foo-see-kos'}(Greek) Meaning:
- produced by nature, inborn
- agreeable to nature
- governed by (the instincts of) nature
Notice that the word natural means inborn. The big lie about being gay is that the person was born that way, but as we can see from this definition that just is not so! As Romans 1:26-27 has pointed out these people have left what was inborn and natural for something shameful and unnatural.
Looking back to Romans 1:32 it says that such people are worthy of death. It also talks about people who have pleasure in them which do it. The word pleasure means: to be pleased together with, to approve together, to consent, allow, agree to or to applaud. Do you agree with homosexuality? Then why don't you stand for the truth? You will have to stand before God and answer for all that you have and have not done (Rom 5:10). Remember how Paul rebuked the Corinthians for allowing that man to continue in his sin? Do you think that God is any different? It's time to stand up and proclaim the truth about homosexuality, that it not only is not pleasing to God, but that such persons shall not go to heaven. Are you going to continue to let the church proceed in ordaining gay ministers and other "gay rights acts" or are you going to deliver the life saving message of the Gospel? The choice is yours!
Now some of you who are reading this article may be living the homosexual life style. While you have a God given right to choose what you want to believe, you also have a God given right to choose between life and death, heaven and hell and truth or lies. You can believe that the truth presented here from God's Word is evil, hateful, or even dead wrong, but that doesn't change the truth. You may not believe in God, but that doesn't mean that He does not exist. As Scripture says: "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good." (Psalm 14:1) God does care about you very much. His love for you is greater than you could imagine. The warnings presented in His Word are there to steer you from the broad path of death and destruction and into His way of love, life, peace and rest. You have chosen to come to a Christian website and read about what God has to say about homosexuals and such like. I did not force you to come and read this article, you read it because you wanted to. It should come as no surprise that God views "being gay" as an abomination. The way God puts it, you have a choice: to serve Him in truth and live, or to serve some other god and die. Now, let's see what you will choose.
Joshua 24:15
And if it seems evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Ammorites, in whose land ye dwell; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. (KJV)
